Mr. David Grapes III

I was born in Saint George, Utah. I have since lived in New York, West Virginia, Tennessee, Perth (Australia) and London. I moved to Windsor, Colorado with my parents and sister twelve years ago in early 2005 where we have lived off and on since. I attended Trinity and T Elementary in Murfreesboro, TN. I went to Page middle and Preston Jr. High. Then I attended Fossil Ridge high school until I dropped out after my sophomore year. Then after getting my life together I went back and finished my high school diploma. I attended UCCS for a couple of years before I transferred to UNCO. I love the outdoors! I’m a licensed backwoods camping instructor for Lori State Park. I also love video games! I taught myself to read when I was three years old. I absolutely love teaching Math, and I have taught most levels of math other than Calculus. I also hold my CHSAA license to coach. I am the head sub-varsity Baseball coach here at Mesa. I came to Mesa Ridge from Windsor High School last year.

♠  Be the best class/group member you can be.  You will be communicating and working with your team every day.  The more you talk and work together, the more you will learn!

♣  Do your classwork/homework!!  Students who consistently practice, think about, and complete their classwork/homework can earn an A or B.  You need to practice math to learn it. I will constantly remind you about this.

♥  Get help when you need it.  No one is smart at everything, and learning takes time.  If you get stuck, ask your group, then ask me.  I am here every day before school, we have math tutoring every day after school, and there are lots of other sources of help. Please ask, don’t wait until you are really confused!

♦  Come prepared.  Besides your classwork, you will need your 3-ring binder, paper, and a pencil to write with every day.  Come prepared to participate, think and learn! (For a complete list of supplies for your class, see Parent Letter.)
