• Library Learning Centers

What are library learning centers?  Aren't they just libraries?

Library learning centers are different than the libraries that many people remember.  Libraries are not silent tombs that house volumes and volumes of old, dusty books.  Library learning centers are the hub of their schools.  They are locations for learning, excitement, technology and amazing books.

The libraries in Widefield are learning centers, pursuing the latest, most modern ways of being.  We are experimenting with genrefication, supporting lexile needs, focusing on our mobility initiatives.  We also support school initiatives that support reading, such as 1000 Books Before Kindergarten, the Talbott Reading Room, Junior High Battle of the Books.
