Culture of Inclusion
Dr. Albert Wiggins
The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) committee in Widefield School District 3 (WSD3) is comprised of representatives from each of our buildings, parents, and community members. The committee is assisting district leadership with the Teaching and Learning Cycle (TLC) 3.0 as well as developing a strategic plan to implement in the 2023-2024 school year.
WSD3 promote Culturally Responsive Instruction by encouraging our community to:
- Honor the unique qualities of each individual
- Acknowledge and celebrate diversity
- Create intentionally inclusive environments
- Implement curriculum that reflects real world experiences
The goal is to foster personal development, support academic performance, and develop productive members of our community.
Equity - Ensuring that each student has what they need to succeed in achieving their goals.
Inclusion - Promoting and sustaining a sense of belonging; experiencing appreciation, validation, acceptance, and fair treatment within an environment. When people feel they belong they are not distracted and can focus on school and work.
Diversity, race, religion, military, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender, social economics.
