Bond Information & Financial Updates

Approximately $28 million is currently allocated to active bond projects across the district.

The committee also reviewed an updated report tracking how schools are using their $40,000 building-level discretionary funds. Several schools are nearing their full allocation, one school has reached the $40,000 total, and others are continuing to purchase approved items and improvements.

Project Updates

The new pods at Sproul Junior High are now in use. Minor finishing work is still underway, but the new spaces are already supporting students and staff.

The committee also reviewed plans and renderings for several upcoming projects:

  • Sproul Junior High: Renovations are planned over two summers, beginning with the west wing next summer and the east wing the following summer. The project includes several optional improvements that can be adjusted based on contractor bids and available funding.
  • Grand Mountain School: Plans include relocating the softball field and adding a gym and two classrooms. The two new classrooms will complement the four classrooms provided through the recently installed PODS. The gym and classroom addition is currently estimated at $8 million to $9 million, with bidding expected to begin next month.
  • Watson Junior High: Plans address classroom and locker space. The project is expected to go out to bid in mid-October with a target cost of approximately $3 million and construction anticipated for next summer.
  • Widefield High School: Plans for the math department include classroom renovations, an additional classroom and a new elevator to provide access to second-floor classrooms. The current project estimate is $21.4 million, with bidding targeted for November.
  • The Haven School: HVAC improvements are planned for the building at 930 Leta and are expected to be completed over the summer. A separate capital project is also planned that would relocate district departments and provide additional classroom space for The Haven School.

LED lighting upgrades will also be included as part of site remodels.

Pinello Elementary Tour

Committee members toured Pinello Elementary to see recently completed improvements firsthand.

Updates include new climate-controlled spaces and upgraded exterior windows and doors. The tour gave committee members an opportunity to see how completed bond projects are being put into use at the school.

Planning, bidding and construction will continue as additional bond-funded projects move forward across the district.
