Students in our Transition Program are doing amazing things! Patrick is a student with the Transition Program, a program to help students continue on where they left off in high school and get them ready for the "real world." Students, like Patrick, are learn to grow their self-esteem and self-confidence and the program supplies them with skills that can help them be independent adults. Patrick states, "It's amazing with how they helped me with the real-world stuff. Teaching me about doing your own taxes, buying a house, living on your own, and even getting out to the community." Patrick has been at the The Mill National Training Center where he has made an adirondack chair. He works as a childcare worker at an elementary school and is even helping out with PreK soccer. "For me success in the Transition Program is setting up goals and figuring out how to transition into adulthood. They can help you in a lot of different ways," Patrick goes on to say about the Transition Program. Priscilla Cooper, Transition Job Coach, aims to teach the transition students how to hone their skills and stand out when getting a job. We as a district are proud to have the Transition Program and supports our students even after high school.'
