Widefield High School has always produced incredible graduates, but Class of 2008 alumnus Josh Divine recently set a major national milestone by taking the bench as the youngest federal judge in the country.
Josh’s story is a testament to where hard work and a strong foundation can lead. After graduating from Widefield, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Northern Colorado before going on to graduate from Yale Law School. From there, his legal career took off fast.
Before his federal appointment in Missouri, Judge Divine served as Solicitor General for the State of Missouri, litigating high-stakes cases from local trial courts all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court. During his time as Solicitor General, he secured more than $725 billion in victories for the state, including a historic $25 billion judgment against China for antitrust violations. His career also includes serving as Chief Counsel in the U.S. Senate and clerking at the U.S. Supreme Court.
Widefield roots run deep in the Divine household, too. Josh is married to fellow 2008 WHS graduate Elizabeth (née Hamm), making this a true double-Gladiator success story.
