Ashton L., a dedicated senior at Discovery High School (DHS), has just earned his Eagle Scout rank after 11 years in the Boy Scouts. For his Eagle Scout project, he designed and built a lost and found cabinet for Webster Elementary, directly impacting the community.
"Our staff and students are so grateful for the Lost and Found that was designed and built by Ashton. It is not only useful, but looks great in our gym lobby," said Rachel Finch, principal at Webster Elementary.
Using the cabinetry skills he learned at the Manufacturing Industry Learning Lab (MiLL), Ashton spent two days crafting the cabinet with materials he obtained through fundraising. He received his Eagle Scout certificate and scarf from DHS Principal Dr. Wiggins. In addition to scouting, Ash enjoys sports and outdoor activities. Discovery High School has broadened his perspective on career opportunities, and though he's still exploring his future path, Ash dreams of one day living on a boat, surrounded by the open seas.
