Widefield School District 3 has been awarded a $120,000 Local Food Program Grant that will allow us to bring more fresh, locally grown foods to our students.

While we have always incorporated fresh fruits and vegetables into our menus, the Local Food Program provides dedicated funding to purchase locally grown products directly from Colorado farmers and producers.

As part of the program, students will receive a serving of fresh Colorado peaches with one lunch each week, while other locally grown fruits, such as pears and melons, will rotate into the lunch menu on a weekly basis.
