Our TICs - Technology Instructional Coaches - develop a depth of understanding of district technology systems to support stakeholders in optimal use of educational technology by:

✔ Actively supporting and promoting effective teaching and high levels of learning

✔ Positively influencing a culture of innovation and continual improvement

✔ Attending and engaging in all TIC meetings

✔ Serving as early adopters of educational technology solutions

Each school site has one TIC, with the exception of The Haven School which has two. See below for more information on TICs for the 2023-2024 School Year.

TICs meet eight times throughout the school year from 4:00 - 5:00pm on the following days: August 28th, September 25th, October 23rd, November 13th, January 22nd, February 26th, March 18th, + April 29th.

Technology Change Notification - Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Notice

Summary:

Widefield School District will be transitioning to required two-factor authentication (2FA) for all staff Google accounts by January 2025. New staff members will be required to have 2FA. Accounts with privileged access to systems such as LINQ, Infinite Campus, Enrich, etc., will be required by May 15th and will be notified by a follow up email.

We are strongly advising users to enable (2FA) to enhance security measures ahead of these dates. By adding an extra layer of verification beyond passwords, 2FA significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access. This safeguards sensitive data and ensures confidentiality within our system.

As part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen security and safeguard your WSD3 account, we highly recommend enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) for your Google account. 2FA provides an additional layer of protection in addition to passwords. This ensures that even if your password becomes compromised, unauthorized access to your account will be prevented. This extra step in security helps to protect your personal information and sensitive data. It is particularly crucial given the nature of the information stored and accessed within educational environments, such as student information.

Set-up:

Set up 2FA with Google by visiting 2-Step Verification Setup. Follow the on-screen prompts to enable 2FA and choose your preferred authentication method.

These methods include:

* Receiving codes via text message

* Using an authenticator app

* Utilizing a physical security key

Once enabled, you'll enjoy enhanced security every time you log in, providing peace of mind knowing your account is better protected against unauthorized access. You can also switch your authentication method to not require a phone by utilizing one time codes. This can be setup at Google 2FA Backup Codes.
