Meet Annalicia Hayhurst - Widefield of Dreams

Annalicia Hayhurst, senior at Widefield High School, is learning to protect and serve her community. For the past four years, Annalicia has been part of the El Paso Sheriff’s Office Cadet Program. The program is preparing her to become a police officer.  Annalicia receives training in all service areas twice a month including community oriented policing, crime prevention, crime scene investigation, patrol and detention procedures, report writing, radio procedures, first aid, and the history of law enforcement. Annalicia is also part of Pikes Peak Community College's dual credit program where she can take classes at the community college while attending high school. She is also part of the UCCS Pre-Collegiate Development Program. During the summer she completed a course that involved going out into the community every week to help out. Annalicia has been a student in Widefield School District 3 since kindergarten, attending French Elementary, Sproul Junior High, and now at Widefield High School. Annalicia says community is very important to her, and she wishes to be able to help people in anyway possible. Annalicia plans on getting her associate’s degree in Criminal Justice before entering the police academy at 21 years old. Her dream is to become a police officer.
