Two-way radios improve crisis communication
Widefield School District 3 (WSD3) wins $1,113,172 in SAFER grant funding to improve communications between first responders and school personnel. WSD3 will receive funding for communications hardware, software, and extensive training over the course of the grant's six year program.
The solution WSD3 will be using is SchoolSAFE which enables a two-way radio connection, to allow emergency services personnel and school officials to talk in real-time during a crisis. Each school site in WSD3 will receive equipment and training.
We look forward to sharing more with our community as we roll out the program this school year.
