Mrs. Lesley Bursha
Hello, I am your student's ISD (In School Detention) Teacher. I worked for just over twenty years with the Orange County Sheriff in California before retiring in 2005 and raised 3 very tall, very handsome Sons. This has given me a lot of experience for this position. I do not believe there is ever a bad student. They are teens and tend to get "Stuck on Stupid" at times. The very first thing they are required to do is write a 1 page essay about why they were sent to ISD and what they are going to do to never be in this classroom again. Your student, while in my classroom, is expected to follow some hard rules, at least to them, No talking, No sleeping, No cell phones/electronic devices, No heads down on desk/arms, Sit "up in their desk, Computers are for school work only. Remain in their assigned seat, Ask permission to move. While in ISD any violation of these rules will result in another write up. Your students teacher sends assigned school work to your student while they are here and they are to complete any work they receive that day. If they do not complete the work they are required to write an explaination to the Teacher why they were unable to do the work. Being a teen is a learning experience, let's hope for the best for your student.
