Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Christopher Varano
Hello there! My name is Christopher Varano, and I am an English teacher here at MRHS. I am stoked to be teaching 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders this year. I'm not one for talking much about myself, but seeing as that is the point of this venue, I'll write a little blurb.
I started teaching at Mesa in 2015. I have a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and I plan on pursuing my doctorate one day. My wife, Heather, is a teacher as well. Our two sons, Dominic and Caius, and our nephew, William live with us and our four cats.
My teaching philosophy is called Highly Supportive Life Preparation. Responsibility-wise, I treat my students as much like adults as possible. I recognize that not every student is necessarily ready for that kind of responsibility. That is where the Highly Supportive part comes in. I want to empower students through knowledge, study skills, critical thinking, and self-motivation to become academically independent.
This school year I will be teaching Advanced Placement Language and Composition, British Literature, English 10, and AVID. Please refer to following link for summer info for AP classes Summer Assignment.
I am looking forward to have an outstanding year! Here's my contact information, feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns:
Please refer to Google Classroom and/or Infinite Campus for information about specific classes.
