Mr. Jorgensen

Welcome Geography Students!

I am very excited for you to learn about the world and its people. To begin let me tell you a little about myself. I grew up in Security and graduated from Widefield High in 1985 (GO GLADS). After high school I attended Western State University. In 1991 I gained Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology, History and Education. 2003 was the year I completed my Masters Degree in education from Grand Canyon University (GO LOPES). This is my 26th year teaching seventh graders. I must be crazy, but I really enjoy Middle School learners. It is so rewarding to have a student say, “I finally get it”.

Your community is my community. The people, recreation and landscape of our region make this a wonderful place to call home. I enjoy golf, watching sports, fishing, boating, camping, hiking, and hunting. My family includes my mom, dad, brother, two sisters, three nephews, three nieces, three Labrador retrievers, my special lady friend and of course her dog. I am lucky enough to have regional friends ranging from fifteen to seventy years of age. This place we call home is terrific because people like you make it so great. Once a Spartan always a Spartan!

The first few assignments of the year will help you learn about the region we live in. We will learn about the amazing elevation of Colorado, the incredible animals of the Front Range, the diversity of the land around us and even the jobs people have that live in our community. As we acquire information about the area we live in we might even learn more about ourselves.
